Mems-ID is pleased to announce the appointment of Iain Kirkwood to the Board of Directors, effective 1 November, 2007. Dr Mike Murray, Mems-ID’s founding chairman, has handed over the Chairman’s role to Mr Kirkwood. The re-composition of the Board of Directors has been precipitated by the Board’s recent decision to prepare the company for listing on the ASX in 2008, as well as to oversee the next phase of the company’s evolution towards the commercialization of the Mems-ID™ product.

Mems-ID is pleased to welcome Byron Walmsley to its technology development team. Mr Walmsley has joined the company as MEMS Process Engineer and will be reporting to Principal Engineer, Dr Jason Chaffey. He has been involved in MEMS technology for several years and has experience in various thin film processes, lithography and other clean-room activities.

Drew Williams was officially appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Board on 7 September 2007. This formalizes his role as an observer on the Board, representing the first Seed Round lead investor ICA, from March 2007 to September 2007.

Mems-ID Pty Ltd and MiniFAB are working together to develop advanced soft magnetic materials to carry high density magnetic flux - an integral aspect of the MEMS-ID chip technology. Mems-ID Pty Ltd has closed a round of bridge funding totaling AU$750 000 from existing and new investors. This will help fund the company through the next few months of development of the Mems-ID™ technology whilst it closes a Series A round of funding and negotiates a Co-Development Agreement with one or more commercial partners.
